LeoparDreamz Bengal Cattery
We grew out of a profound love of animals and a strong desire for owners Amie and Tony Mascarello to build something together. There has always been a solid animal presence in the Mascarello home. That mostly came in the form of dogs, as Amie has a feline allergy. However, we discovered that bengals are known to cause less of an allergic reaction. So, in early 2022, the family got our first bengal. Unbeknownst to us, the female was already pregnant. After much research, we decided that we wanted to breed bengals legitimately and not be thought of as “backyard breeders”. We began acquiring TICA (The International Cat Association) registered bengals to develop our breeding program.
What Created The Passion?
Our first queen, Miss Luna Mystique of LeoparDreamz came from another breeder in Iowa who was closing her cattery. We learned quickly why she had decided to close. Luna had several issues conceiving. And once she did, she just wasn't a great mom. While working with Luna, we got several kittens to add to our program. Although Luna had her challenges as a breeding queen, she was a wonderful loving cat. So as our kittens began to come of age, we made the decision to retire Luna and focus on our younger generation.
We've had our ups and downs and learned so much in our time as breeders and we look forward to learning more. We've gained some wonderful mentors from the breeders we've gotten kittens from and we look forward to many more years and many more litters.
